Glitlr: est question: am I happy to be a part of TiltBook?
March 20, 2013 19:05
yes, sir Mr. test question guy
Trki: ello glirt! I am glad you are on tiltbook :) you are fantastic player :) When you cant play online, do you play live?
March 20, 2013 19:10
I played live a few times since Black Friday. But what international players might be surprised to know is that in the USA smoking in casinos is allowed. There is so much second hand smoke that I can't stand going!
Safracz: i Matt! When you considered, that Sit&Go's is the right game for you? Have you attempting to be cash game regular before? If so what CG format have you played/tried and why you switched to SNG's then.

Trki: es i hate smoking too , its horrible there, so you are just couching and cant play ... pretty sick, but there isn't any USA online rooms?

masuronike: o you play live?
March 20, 2013 19:28
Hello, my friend! Nice talking to you on Skype:). I barely play live. Some answers below explain. Cliffs: smoke = gross, wife = she thinks I'm gross. ;)
masuronike: ow much coaching lessons you have daily or weekly? I know you have a lot but dont know how much
March 20, 2013 19:34
I usually do about 15-20 sessions a week with clients. Today, I have 6! I need to drink a lot of water today hehe. Each day Monday-Friday I have pretty much the same schedule. I wake up at 5:40am to coach! Find me one poker player who wakes up at 5:40am to work =D
BADDENIS: ello! How do you feel? In SnG need to go with MTT, and you need to immediately play SnG?
March 20, 2013 19:36
Hi, BADDENIS. I'm not quite sure what you mean. Do you mean do I prefer MTT SNGs?
masuronike: know that you dont play online a lot atm because you cant and games are much harder than before black Friday. What stakes do you think you can beat these days?
March 20, 2013 19:37
I get asked this a lot. Basically, "are you still good even though you haven't played much since Black Friday?" The answer is I'm even better than when I played. Imagine a good basketball player who then retires and becomes a coach. He knows the game inside and out and teaches it to his players. Sure, maybe he's not as athletic (aka: I can't click buttons a fast lol) but my brain moves a zillion miles an hour and I'm better than when I played. When you can teach something to someone (or a lot of people) and they become extremely successful because of it, you are doing a good job at what you do. For "games harder than Black Friday," it's always an "x - 1" effect. For years I've been hearing, "Wow games were harder in (current year minus 1)." I teach players how to think and not how to copy ranges. This way, they can adapt to any scenario. =D If someone knows WHY and not WHAT, they will always succeed!
Oh, and for stakes, I'd say 100s because I coach guys that high and they do great. However, when I played I never played above 38. I played 2 $60 9 mans ever. I mostly did 15s.
BADDENIS: lay MTT, and then SnG! Or start with a SnG? Those people who go to the top 3 (MTT) necessarily reach the top places (SnG), where the prize is clearly more! ! You agree with me? Or do you have a point of view?
March 20, 2013 19:44
Ahh, ok I get it now :) I think the best answer depends on what you want and what your personal limits are. For example, if you can handle not having a good cash for 1-2 weeks, have a bankroll to sustain that, and aren't effected emotionally by it, play MTTs. If you like more of a consistent flow of money (well, maybe this doesn't happen as much to others hehe) SNGs are better. Also, mixing is great. But a lot depends on your schedule - do you have the time to play long hours? etc etc. Each person's plan should be customized to them. Hope this helps!
BADDENIS: ell, maybe this doesn't happen as much to others hehe !! :-D At the moment I do mix! And I will continue to go that way! Since this is not my main job!

BADDENIS: ow old poker has become your hobby? And with how much work?
March 20, 2013 19:58
Around 2007 I started with a $50 transfer on a website called pokerroom using the name 'mattcali22'. Before that I played on 'ChipnTheChair' on full tilt and 'mattcali22' on Full Tilt. LOL, pretty sad. When I was +7k on Sharkscope I quit my job (April 25, 2008) ...by the way, not recommended... and started to be a "pro" the next day. I started studying hard in the end of 2008, and on February 1, 2009 I played my first $15 9 man. I spent TONS of hours studying and playing to become an 'expert' and I like it now cause I can teach people in several hours what takes years to learn lol. Looking back on it, I feel like I wasted so much time studying. It took a lot of work to be really good at it.
