Effect of poker on your life
What poker brought to or took from your life.
I have to say, that I have changed a lot (in a good way imo) since I started to play poker. Definitely think more about things than I used to, I am less emotional, always trying to rationalize things and make logic decision not emocial. Also started to care about things I would not care about...like time management, building my routinne, studying succesful people, studying psychology and philosophy, But I lost a lot of friends, because some of them simply dont understand it, spending a lot of time in front of screen, my health is little bit worse than before. All in all, I am really happy that I found poker, because I have smthing which I love and I am brutally motivated to achieve great things in this beautiful game...you know, its neverending struggle, I need to overcome lots of obstacles, face many challenges, push myself to the limits a lot of times...sometimes it hurts a lot, but that means I am becoming better and better, not only as a player but as a person in general, thats why I love it sooo much.
I say to myself "Pee,drink water, win." every hour. I chant "please please please" or "bricks bricks bricks" depending on the situation. Poker made me more sullen about life in general. If you've been through upswings and downswings, nothing really matters that much anymore. If all you do is grind everyday, everything just comes and goes. News, movies, society...The shit I give is inversely proportional to the amount of hands I play.
Poker pretty much saved my life. I found the game at a very low point in my life due mostly to the fact that I often had trouble dealing with my emotions. I also had just lost a well [paying career. Poker taught me how to understand and control my emotions (as opposed to suppress them)and gave me an income. I have no idea where i'd be, or what id be doing now otherwise.
i love this game but iam a nervous guys that developed anxiety by stress with poker but first with life if you dont have bases in life or you have problems you poker Agame is afected good sleep and eating well is very important dont play10hours str8 all days or young gonna regret later gl all on the tables.
It has taught me discipline, didn't use to fight for something I really wanted but poker has made me use all my mental and physical resources...competition and winning money doing what u like is great...but not easy, my life has changed to positive...and I think it's about to change even more in the next weeks/months. I now know how important is emotional intelligence not only at the tables but also when learning something new, competing, achieving goals...and every thing you do!
