$150 to SNE - A week full of trouble
If you read my earlier post regaring this, you do know that I am trying to turn $150 into SuperNova Elite by playing strictly 6-max hyper turbo sit & gos on PokerStars. In the first week I did get to $276. How did it go in the second one? Let's find out!
As the title suggest, it was indeed a week full of problems. Interestingly enough, I am not really talking about playing itself, but rather about loads of connection issues and similiar problems. In one of my first sessions all of my tables just froze costing me several buy-ins, but luckily, as it turned out, the problem was not on my site and PokerStars refunded me with 15 bucks. Later I managed to overload my crappy old notebook by running way too many programs this causing Stars client to freeze as well. I was forced to restart and able to save only few last table. But this was still just a beginning.
During the week, TableNinja released a new update which caused more problems than it fixed. It kept popping up this error message I could not get rid off and the tournament registration did not work at all, so I had to reg to all the tourneys manully which resulted in lower volume.
"Save the best of last" they say and so it happened in this case as well. While taking shot on the higher limits my internet connection broke down, which, to me, happens like... never. By the time I was able to get my backup on I was out of most of the tournaments, eventually losing about $40. It's no big deal moneywise but in terms of this challenge it certainly is a setback worth mentioning.
All this having been said, I still managed to play 940 sngs past week (I played 703 week before that) even though I had only 5 free days to play. I have now increased the number of tables to 16 and I am also getting used to playing longer sessions. Eventually, I would like to start playing somewhere around 2,500 tourneys a week and I hope it will not take much time to reach this. The lowest, $1,5 stakes are really easy and with my EV ROI of 9,2% I am making a bit over $9 an hour.
Having $372 in my cashier I moved up the stakes which I find as easy as $1,5s. For some reason HM did not track my results from these and so I am also posting my Sharkscope graph. I am pretty sure you can figure out at which point I started playing $3,5 and when exactly my internet connection went to shits:
SNGs played: 1,643
Bonuses: SCOOP reload $50, VIP stellar rewards $10, Refund $15
Total profit: $126
Average VPPs per day needed to reach SNE: 4306
