Traffic and Games:
Most of Poker de las Americas’ players are Latin American, and so traffic peaks during North and South American evenings and weekends. Games run in ARS, VEF, COP and USD. Most traffic is in ARS, with some traffic in VEF as well. ARS games are exclusive to Argentinians, whereas VEF, COP and USD games are open to other countries. That being said, we did not observe any active traffic in COP and USD at Cash, Tournament or Sit-n-Gos. As per usual, most games run at 6max, though there is some decent full-ring traffic as well. We’re glad to report that there are not many strong regulars on Poker de las Americas and the Casino and Sportsbook successfully bring many recreational players to the poker tables.
Typical ARS cash traffic at peak times is 2-3 tables of NL5k, 7-8 tables of NL2k, 10-12 tables of NL1k, 6 tables of NL600 and 9-10 tables of NL400. 1-2 heads-up games and 1-2 6max games of Omaha run at each limit. Traffic below NL400 would be considered microstakes (below roughly NL50 USD), and roughly 10 tables per limit run at each of these stakes with 2-3 tables of Omaha per limit.
VEF cash traffic at peak times is surprisingly mostly PLO. We observed 1-2 games at PLO10k, 3-4 games at PLO2k and PLO1k, 1-2 games at PLO 600 and sporadic traffic below that. During peak times there is roughly 1 NLHE game running at all limits.
There are some decent smaller guaranteed tournaments running in ARS (15K to 25K) on weeknights, with a larger 80k GTD on Sundays. There is also some SNG traffic in ARS; we observed 1-2 games running per stake from ARS $5.50 to $33. The occasional SNG runs as high as ARS $55 and $110. The majority of SNG traffic is HUSNG and Double or Nothing.
Tournament traffic in VEF is surprisingly good as well. Poker de las Americas runs a 7k and 10k GTD as part of the weekly schedule as well as fairly high stakes Friday and Saturday tournaments, but without guaranteed pools. In addition to some smaller sunday tournaments, Poker de las Americas also hosts two large sunday tournaments with VEF prize pools of 100k and 300k. There is usually no SNG traffic in VEF.
Software and Tracking:
Poker de las Americas’ software is quite good and much better than you’d expect for a smaller, newer room. The lobby is easy to sort and attractive, though one downside is the lack of advanced filtering options. Games can be sorted based on full/empty status, stakes, game type and currency, but nothing more specific than that.
Functionally, Poker de las Americas’ software runs very well. Many options are available that make mult-itabling easier. Standard options like auto-muck, wait for BB, auto-buyin and auto rebuy are all available, in addition to other gameplay options that show/hide specific information like hand strength, winning combinations and more. A good degree of visual customization is available as well – tables, sound, avatars and cards can be customized to your preference. Overall, tables look good, run smoothly and tile well, making grinding comfortable.
Poker de las Americas is not currently supported by Hold’em Manager or Pokertracker, however a hand history converter is in development. Players will be able to use their HUDs and database software on Poker de las Americas shortly.
Cashier and Payment Options:
Neteller, Skrill, Credit Card, Bank Wire, EcoPayz, Webmoney and Paysafecard are among the wide variety of payment options offered by Poker de las Americas. Poker de las Americas also can arrange special payment requests. Cashouts are processed promptly, particularly to eWallets. Most players receive their cashouts within 3-5 days.
